Josephine Buck Wheeler, 83, died Friday, January 16, 2026. Born in Pitt Co., NC, she was a longtime Hampton resident and had worked as a data processor for the City of Hampton. She loved being at home with her family and was an avid genealogist.

Josephine was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Franklin Deloy Braxton. She is survived by her husband, Rodger Allen Wheeler; her daughters, Angela Russo and husband, Joseph, Tracy Holloman, and Andrea Hollander; her grandchildren, Rachel Hercules and husband, Sean, Laura Dawson and husband, Josh McPherson, Joseph Russo, and Amy Kalb and husband, Matt; her great-grandchildren, Zoe, Nathan, Sean, Alana, Aaliyah, and Luke; and her brother, Bud Buck.

The family will receive friends from 10-11AM, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 11AM. Interment will take place at 1pm at Parklawn Memorial Park.
