Joseph Michael Luke, age 65, of Hampton, passed away on November 15, 2022, at his home after a brief illness.  He was born in Syracuse, NY on August 15, 1957, the second of four children to Francis J. and Catherine C. Luke.  After moving to Virginia with his family, he attended Tabb High School, graduating in June 1975.  While at Tabb, he played football and was elected president of the Student Council Association.  Before his retirement he worked as a CAD designer for Boeing in Seattle, McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis, J. J. McMullen in Newport News, Gulfstream in Savannah, Advanced Technologies, Inc. in Hampton, and the Huntington-Ingalls shipyard in Newport News.  He enjoyed fine art and antiques, classic cars and classic blues and rock.

He is survived by his daughter Nadia; his mother, Catherine C. Luke; his older brother, Daniel Luke and wife, Pamela and their children, Joseph (spouse, Mariëtte and son Sebastian) and Mary; his younger brother, Stephen Luke and wife Amy and their sons James and Malachi; his younger sister, Christine Godfrey and husband Arthur Godfrey and son Gentry Kerwood (spouse, Sammi and son Finn); and his former spouse Darla J. Houghwout Luke.  In addition, he is survived by his uncle, Father Peter Creed.   He was predeceased by his father, Francis J. Luke and the mother of his daughter, Dawn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM Monday, November 21, 2022, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton by Father Peter Creed.
