IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Johnathon E.
Torres
April 12, 1987 – January 26, 2024
On Friday January 26, 2024, Johnathon E. Torres, beloved son of Jeannette Giannini and John Torres, a loving father, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 36, in Hampton, Virginia.
Johnathan was born on April 12, 1987, in Queens, NY. He had been a Hampton resident for the last year where he worked for Pembroke Construction Company. Johnathon's passions include an affinity for cooking, fishing, swimming and could often be found at Fort Monroe on the pier. He loved spending time with his family. An avid master chess player, he was also a gifted chess instructor, a guitarist, and a gamer. He was a very talented craftsman and worked on the woodwork in his home. He was charismatic with a big heart, and a great dresser who loved the finer things in life. People were naturally drawn to him with his quick wit, infectious smile, and winning personality. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecilia and Angel Rosario and Sergio Torres; he is survived by his daughter, Sophia Torres; his mother, Jeannette H. Giannini; his father, John Torres; his grandmother, Francisca Torres; three brothers, James S. Gonzalez, Devin J. Giannini, and Jacob Torres; a sister, Brianna Torres; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His sudden departure is gravely felt by his entire family, countless friends, and colleagues. The family thanks you for your support and the outpouring of prayers during this difficult time and your kindness is deeply appreciated. May the Lord's joy continue to shine on you for your deeds and acts of love expressed.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 Thursday, February 1 and Friday, February 2 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home and a funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
