John Michael Smith, 55, died August 1, 2016. Born in Augusta, GA he lived most of his life on the Peninsula graduating from Menchville HS. John worked 25 years for Bill Jones Painting as a drywaller and was a huge fan and member of the Steelers Fan Club.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Smith; father, John Smith; and niece Carmen. He is survived by his mother, Kitty Smith; sisters, Leslie Lindsay, Lynn Wallace and Ginny St. John; brother, Patrick M. Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA.
