IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Miller,
Jr.
November 18, 1964 – November 19, 2022
John Miller Jr., 58 years old, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, with his loving family by his side. After a courageous battle with liver cancer, he received a liver transplant in June of 2022 from his good friend and coworker.
John was born November 18, 1964, in Portsmouth, VA, to the late Lillian "Faye" Betker Miller and John Miller. He graduated from Edwardsville Highschool in 1982. John then served in the US Navy, proudly served his country for six years, and was honorably discharged as an FC2.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Maureen Miller of Hampton, VA, whom he married on May 7, 1994, at Burr Wesleyan United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, WI.; his son, Justin Miller of Fairfax, VA; daughters, Lucy and Sadie Miller of Hampton; sister Glenda Sherman of Glen Carbon, IL; brothers-in-law Kevin (Melody) Winchel, Steve Winchel, Casey (Emeliza) Winchel, and Tony (Brenda) Winchel, all of Hillsboro, WI; brother-in-law Larry (Geneva) Winchel of Shertz, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
His passion in life was spending time with his family. A true Packers fan, he loved watching the Packers and had the whole ICU unit watching the Packers while he was there.
He was an Electronics Technician at NAS Oceana and enjoyed his job and leaves behind many work friends that are like family.
He was preceded in death by brother-in-law Jamie "Lou" Winchel, sister-in-law Rita Winchel, father-in-law Harold Winchel, mother-in-law Patricia Winchel, and sister-in-law Peggy Winchel.
Funeral services for Mr. John Miller will be Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 2 pm at Central United Methodist Church, 227 Chapel St. Hampton, VA 23669. John will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
