John Carlton Estilow, 80, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Born in Swedesboro, NJ, he was the son of Willard Howard, Sr. and Eleanor Horner Estilow. He joined the US Marines and was very proud of his service to his country. John received many certifications in the construction industry. He was a master carpenter and retired as a construction foreman with Fluora Daniels Construction Company. To ease into retirement, John went to work in the contractor sales department at Lowes where he worked until his health no longer permitted it. He was a very active member of Bethany Methodist Church where he was head of grounds for many years and was always available to help out where needed.

Preceded in death by his wife, Judith Estilow and a nephew Joseph Saunders; survivors include his daughter, Heather Fox and her husband, Bryan; his step-son, Junior Lee Schriner, II and his wife, Marsha Woolridge; a grandson, Adam Fox; his longtime companion, Stella Crumpler; his sister, Patricia Saunders; and his brother, Willard Howard Estilow, Jr.

A memorial service with Marine honors will be conducted at Bethany Methodist Church in Hampton, VA. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on May 3, 2025.
