John B. Edmundson, 87, died Friday, June 24, 2016. Born in Baltimore, he served in the US Navy following World War II and had been a Peninsula resident since 1966 where he retired from civil service at Fort Monroe in 1985 after 34 years of service. He loved to tinker with things and was a talented handyman.

Preceded in death by his mother, Martha Harrell and his father, Frank Edmundson; survivors include his sons, Timothy Edmundson and his wife, Laurie and Jeffrey Edmundson and his wife, Betty; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his lifetime friend, Susie Palmer.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Parklawn Memorial Park by Pastor Joe Hunt. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 Monday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
