John Edward Doyle, born in Holton, Kansas, died in Hampton, Virginia on August 4, 2014 at the age of 94. John is now with his beloved son, Donald Lee Doyle, together in the arms of their Lord. He is survived by his wife, Emily S. Doyle, their children, John A. Doyle and his wife, Rosemarie, of Portsmouth, Virginia, Josephine C. McElroy and husband, Steve, of Gilford, New Hampshire, Emily L. Doyle of Hampton, Samuel J. Doyle and his wife, Rosalie, of Ringgold, Virginia, L. Patrick Doyle and his wife, Sheryl, of Calgary, Alberta, nine grandchildren, nine great grand children and his surviving brother and sister. John served at NACA/ NASA as Engineer, Supervisor and Project Manager from 1941 until retirement in 1975. In retirement, he expanded his volunteer activities to include Pastoral Ministry for the sick and elderly representing Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hampton until his second retirement in 2007 due to health. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 6:00 pm with Reverend Prince presiding. Following the liturgy, the family will receive friends at a reception in the church hall. Please no flowers. You can make donations to the Immaculate Conception Church or your favorite charity. Interment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:00 am.
