Obituary

John Martens "Jack" Clough III, 74, passed away October 12, 2019. Born September 3, 1945 at Ft. Eustis in Virginia, Jack was raised in New Jersey. After graduating from East Brunswick High School, he served four years in the United States Navy. Jack returned to Virginia to begin his career at Newport News Shipbuilding where he later retired as a facilities manager after nearly 40 years of service. During his time at the shipyard, Jack earned his B.A. from Saint Leo University. Jack was a servant at heart, volunteering wherever needed. He was an active member of the Hampton Volunteer Fire Department, serving at Fox Hill and then Buckroe stations. He later joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jack was also an active member of First United Methodist Church Fox Hill. His greatest passion was devoting time to his family, especially his two grandsons. He particularly enjoyed watching them play baseball and spending time with them fishing and boating.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, John Clough, Jr. and Roselle Deal Clough and sister, Janice Winters. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Janet L. Clough, daughter, Debbie Husby and her husband Brandon, and their sons, Joshua and Justin Husby.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 2PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Buckroe Volunteer Fire Department or the General Fund at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill are requested.
