John Lawrence Cavanagh, Jr., 70, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Born in Clinton, IO, he had been a Hampton resident since 1987. He retired from the US Air Force in 1997 after 28 years of service then went back to work as a government contractor retiring in 2015. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Preceded in death by his parents, Cecelia and John L. Cavanagh, Sr.; survivors include his wife, Jane Cavanagh; a daughter, Christine Taylor; a son, John Cavanagh and his wife, Michelle; a grandson, Caleb Taylor (Lauren); two great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Caleb Taylor, Jr.; a brother, Daniel Cavanagh; and three sisters, Mary Ellen Cavanagh, Loretta Leopold, and Kathleen Lester.
