Jo Ann H. Woodcock, of Hampton, VA passed away on September 24 2026. A lifelong resident of Hampton, she will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Jo Ann graduated from Hampton High School in 1959 and then went to work at NASA Langley Research Center. After a long career she retired as an Executive Assistant. She was an active member of the community in the Hampton Yacht Club and formerly with the Junior Woman’s Club of Hampton. Jo Ann loved Christmas and decorating her home. Over the years, she created many beautiful handmade crafts. She was a talented seamstress and an amazing cook. Her homemade chocolate chip cookies were always a special treat. Jo Ann cherished time spent with her family and friends and always looked forward to their visits. She will forever be remembered in love, light, and peace.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Josephine H. House, her aunt, Earlyne “Sista” Miller and her beloved cousin John “Jack” Hughes. Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Clarke “Woody” Woodcock; her children Debra Saul (David) and Jeffrey Woodcock (Nancy). She was a loving Nana to her grandchildren: Cortney Watson (Mike), Kyle Wasem (Sarah), Trevor Wasem, Jennalynne Saul and Bradley Little, her great-grandchildren: Rylee, Adelynn, Nikolai, Dominik, Isaac, and Laney due in October.

A visitation will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on September 30 2026 from 5 pm-7 pm. The funeral will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hampton, VA on October 1 2026 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to your favorite charity.
