Obituary

Jimmy Clay "Opa" Jaynes, 77, died Saturday, November 23, 2013. A native of Overton, TN, he served in the US Army, retiring in 1974 after 20 years of service. He also had 19 years in the nuclear field with Fluor Daniel as a carpenter and scaffold foreman at the Surry Nuclear Power Plant, retiring again in 2000.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his adored wife of 15 years, Jean. Survivors include his daughter, Debora Brown and her husband, Bo; his step-son, Terry Thompson and his wife, Evon; his step-daughter, Barbara Duke and her husband, Jim; two grandsons, Anthony and Andrew Holloway; and a great-grandson, Adam Holloway.

A graveside service with full Army honors will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
