Jewell Grove Clay, 84, widow of Andrew J. Clay, Jr., passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015. Born in Chatham, VA she had been a resident of Hampton for over 60 years. Surviving are her daughters, Sandra Heystek and Sonya L. Clay, both of Hampton, grandchildren, Wendy Turner, Jenny Sutherland, Tonya Barrett and Tommy Gardner; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 PM Monday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton. Immediately following at 6:00 pm, a Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Bert Rait.
