Jerry K. Simpson, 75, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 4, 2015. He was born on March 20, 1939 in Keen Mountain, VA to the late James and Gladys Simpson. Jerry was a self-employed drywall finisher and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy. He is survived by step-sons, Michael Simpson and Sherrell Riddle, Jr.; his sisters, Margaret Freeman-Smith, Eva Bohon, and Shirley Rodriguez and her husband, Tony; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents and his sisters, Betty Lawrence and Mary Trosper; and two wives, Marcia J. Simpson and Eleanor F. Simpson. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00PM, Saturday, February 7, 2015 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel by Pastor Joe Hunt. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 1021 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
