Jerry E. Myers joined the saints on September 24, 2014, at the age of 73. He was born in Alta Vista, VA, on February 18, 1941. A celebration of his life will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 250 Fox Hill Road, Hampton, on Friday, October 3, with a visitation at 6:00 p.m., memorial service at 7:00 p.m., and reception at 8:00 p.m. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Ann, and sister, Yonni Myers of San Diego, CA, three stepchildren (Duane, Jim, Cheryl), their families, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws; he was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen and Larry. Jerry was a Master Plumber who retired from the City of Hampton in 1999 as a Mechanical and Plumbing Inspector for Codes and Compliance. His recreation favorites were fishing and boating, and he was a handyman who helped his friends and families with a multitude of projects. He was a proud former member of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 63 and V.F.W. 3219.
