Jeromy Lynn Bell, 49, died Sunday, May 29, 2022. A lifelong resident of Hampton, he was a truck driver by trade and had been a volunteer firefighter with the Phoebus Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed bowling, watching movies, the Braves, the Texans, and a good pack of Oreos. He had a love for bald eagles and always wanted to put a smile on people's faces.

Jeromy was incredibly strong and determined. In 2020 when he suffered a stroke, he proved everyone wrong about his recovery time and persevered through any setbacks that came his way.

Preceded in death by his father Detective Corporal R.L. Bell of the Hampton Police Department; survivors include his mother, Deloris "Dee" Bell; his daughters, Breanna Bell and her mother Andi Johnston, and Lacy Stafford; two sisters Karen Tomazic and her husband Matthew and Stephanie Aponte and her husband Omar; and was loved and will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Morgan, Brandon, Hunter, Brylee, Erica, and Diego.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00PM Saturday, June 4, 2022, in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to their Go Fund Me by clicking HERE . Any funds which overpay the funeral will be given to his children.
