Obituary

Jean Mary Reddington, 78, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Born and raised in Lexington, MA, but has lived in Hampton, VA since 1975. Jean was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Buckroe Beach. Jean played women's fast pitch softball at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana. She worked many years as a waitress at Langley Air Force Base Officers' Club. Jean was an authentic Italian cook, taught by her parents who immigrated through Ellis Island in 1920. She lived by strong morals, was loved by many, and never met a stranger. Jean is survived by her sons, Ralph Capotosto, Roger Reddington, Richard Reddington and Robert Reddington, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as sisters Mary Vanderventer and Frances Ewing. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with internment to follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Va. The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, from 4-6 p.m,
