Jannette Rena Locascio passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 23, 2024. Born in Virginia, she was a 1987 graduate of Kecoughtan High School.  Jannette loved listening to all types of music, dancing, and had a contagious laugh that could light up a room. She was passionate about all things surrounding the University of Alabama, including but not limited to, blocking off an entire Saturday to prepare to watch the game with her stuffed elephant.

Jannette had one of the most vibrant personalities you would ever come across. She loved taking care of people and was extremely giving and caring. Jannette loved to spend her time volunteering for events her children participated in and cheering their sports teams along. She had an innate ability to become a mom to any kid who walked through her door.

Jannette's children were the center of her universe. Being their mother was the highlight of her life and she made sure that everyone around her knew that. Some of the qualities that made her the best mom were; always being supportive, daily check-in's, being a shoulder to cry on, offering to fight anyone who hurt them, always making sure they had their favorite meals no matter how intricate it was, and always greeting her kids with the biggest smile and best hugs.

Preceded in death by mother, Barbara Green; brother, Walter Phillips, Jr.; and sister, Gloria McCallum; she leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Pete Green; her beloved children, Taylor Locascio, Brooke Locascio, and Joshua Locascio; many siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins; her many dear friends that she considered family; and her four grand fur-babies.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Yorktown Beach, Yorktown, Virginia.
