Janet Beatrice Morris, 69, died Thursday, July 29, 2021. Born in Jacksonville, FL, she had been a Virginia resident since 1983. She retired as a computer programmer from QED Systems. Janet loved attending plays, shopping, puzzles, crocheting, watching murder mysteries, and was an avid reader; but, her greatest love was her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Bowman and Gloria Huff Marshall, two nephews, Cameron Michael Reed and David Marshall, and her first husband, Roger DeLoney. She is survived by her husband, Phillip Morris; her children, Roger Lamont DeLoney (Aishah), Rahmon Omar DeLoney, Rahsaan Kareem "Rocky" DeLoney, and Ashley Reyes (Jose); two step-daughters, Jeanita Gregory (Leroy) and Tamara Morris; her siblings, Joan Elizabeth Reed (Michael), David Bowman Marshall, Joyce Diane Marshall (Gerald, I), and Theresa T. Jones (Charles); her grandchildren, Wayne Morris, Rahsaan Kareem DeLoney, Samadhi Yvette DeLoney, Chike Lamont DeLoney, and Angel and Angelica Reyes; and a great-granddaughter, Ziyah DeLoney.

The family will receive friends from 9-10 am, Monday, August 9 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton with a funeral service beginning at 10 am in the funeral home chapel.
