Jane B. Taylor, 82, died Monday, August 11, 2014. Born in Staunton she had been a Hampton resident since 1952. Jane retired from civil service as executive support officer to the commanding general of TAC at LAFB after 40 years of service. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church and Alpha Chi Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Jane is survived by her husband Charles E. Taylor; daughters, Pamela Anne Morris and Jill Patrice Taylor-Wentzel; brother, E. Jerry Beard; grandchildren, Valerie Steely, Leonard Morris III, Taylor Wentzel; three great-grandchildren, Karina Morris, Lily Steely, and Luke Steely. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Central United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
