Jane O. Rice went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Hampton Sentara CarePlex Hospital surrounded by her family.

Jane was born in Danville, VA on July 5, 1942.  She lived most of her life in Hampton and was a proud Hampton Crabber, Class of 61.  She married William M. Rice, Jr. (Bill) on January 21, 1966.  Jane was an active member of the Fox Hill Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and former member of the Joyful Women of Central Methodist Church.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents Hollie and Beulah Ozment; in-laws William M. and Madeline Rice; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Rice.  She is survived by her son, William M. Rice (Jennifer); sister, Patricia Wright; special nephew, James T. Hodge (Tina); great-nephew, Adam West (Erin); great-great nephew, Luke West; great-niece Samantha Rabb (Michal); many cousins; special friends Carlene Verser, Kathy Williams, Patty Miller and Benton Deavers.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, April 3, 2023, at Fox Hill Road Baptist Church, Hampton and the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM at the church.  Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fox Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Fox Hill Road Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice.
