Jane E. Cavanagh, 77, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Born in Los Angeles, she was raised in Phoenix, AZ where she met her future husband while in college. They married and travelled during his Air Force career, landing in Hampton in 1987. Jane was a very giving, supportive and understanding mother. She loved her family deeply and was always present at any of her children’s or grandson’s sporting events, cheering them on from the bleachers.

Preceded in death by her husband, John L. Cavanagh, Jr. and her brother, Frank Greff; survivors include her daughter, Christine Taylor (Quentin); her son, John L. Cavanagh, III; her sister, Julie Maddeaux; her grandson, Caleb Taylor; and two great grandchildren, Cassidy and Caleb Taylor, Jr. The family would like to thank the Eversole family for their love, friendship, and support through the years.
