CDR James Arnold Nourse (U.S. Navy Ret.), 90, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016.  Born in San Francisco, CA, had has been a Hampton resident since 1963.  He served in the US Navy during World Wars, retiring in 1969 after 25 years.

Jim enjoyed volunteering for many causes, including the VA Hospital in Hampton, VPI in the Extension service, and as a Boy Scout Master for Troup 13.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara M. Nourse.  He is survived by his children, Carol Nourse, Kenny Nourse, Robin Nourse, Susan Nourse, Margaret Mazzurco, Christy Morris and Kevin Nourse; brother, Thomas Mauk; grandchildren, Karen Reed, Kelly Kane, Wesley and Maggie Saxton, Sal, Jimmy, Marco and Maria Mazzurco, Erick Morris and Katie Crews; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Reed, Giovanni and Gabriella Mazzurco and Isaac Kane.

The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton.  Immediately following at 11:00 AM, a funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel.  Interment with military honors will be at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
