James Scott Hutcheson passed away May 2, 2023 after a courageous fight with cancer. He loved bass fishing with his best buddy Sal Leone. Hutch volunteered for the Abingdon Fire Department before working for the City of Hampton where he loved being a Firefighter and Paramedic from 1996 – 2014 until he retired. As a history buff, he enjoyed car rides along the Colonial Parkway and taking pictures of the wildlife at the Yorktown Battlefields. Hutch was grateful to reconnect with his overseas family which he adored. He had a very special bond with his brother-in-law, TJ Ward and we are so thankful for all he's done for the family. Hutch adored his wife Amy Hutcheson and son, Billy Redfearn more than anything.

The family would like to thank his favorite nurse/person/cousin, Sarah Felix, who helped care for him through this rough time. The staff at Riverside Regional Medical Center all gave him and his family excellent care and support for which they are forever grateful.
