James Preston Harrell, 53, died Monday, May 24, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of Hampton he was a 1980 graduate of Kecoughtan High School. James was an avid football fan of the Miami Dolphins and loved the rock band Led Zeppelin. James was preceded in death by his parents John H. and Virginia Thompson Harrell as well as his brother Thomas Harrell. He is survived by his sisters, Sharon Martin and Barbara Wynn; brother, John H. Harrell, Jr; and sister-in-law Carolyn Barnes. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 PM, Monday, June 1, 2015 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 PM. The family requests memorial donations be sent to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters
