James William Broxmeyer, 80, died November 10, 2016. A native of New Jersey, Jimmy retired after 23 years of service from Langley Air Force Base as the Fire Chief and then settled here in Hampton. Following his service in the Air Force, he went on to work as a maintenance man as well as worked at the old Clyde's Restaurant in Phoebus.  Jimmy loved his family, and enjoyed Nascar.

Survivors include his wife Betsy Broxmeyer; sons, Thomas Broxmeyer, Robert Broxmeyer, Jimmy Broxmeyer, and Kirby Broxmeyer; daughters, Constance Dickinson and her husband Joe, Carol Broxmeyer; sister, Arlene Sarmiento; brother, Mickey Scott; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 2PM.
