James "Jim" B. Morgan, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 following a brief illness. He was born in Newport News, January 23, 1938 to the late Joella P. and Norman D. Morgan. Jim graduated from Newport News High School in the Class of 1956. He then graduated from the Newport News Apprentice School and attended/ the University of Virginia. Jim was a loving son, husband, father, friend and sportsman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny, Warren, Tommy and Jessie. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, James P. "Phil" Morgan and granddaughter, Isabelle both of Green Bay, VA; loving, faithful friend, Zoey; sister, Jean Burdick of Southampton County; and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Wednesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton. Immediately following at 11:00 am, Jim's life will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be private.
