August 25, 1930 – November 23, 2022
Jacqueline Burton Eubank, 92, died Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Hampton Health and Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong resident of Hampton, she was the oldest living member of Hampton Christian Church where she was the organist for 47 years. Additionally, Jackie played the organ at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home from the time of her graduation from Hampton High School until she retired after 56 years. Many will remember "Sunday At Six", an organ recital she played on WVEC Radio each Sunday, live from the funeral home.
Preceded in death by her husband, Fred F. Eubank, Sr., Jackie is survived by her two sons and their wives, Frederick Ford Eubank, Jr. and Robin; and Brian Thomas Eubank, Sr. and Marilyn; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Sheila Clark and Jenny Cave for caring for Jackie while she was at home, and Nurse Practitioner Sharon Upright, the staff at the Devonshire and the staff at Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation for the loving care shown to Jackie and her family over the years. They are also grateful to Promedica Hospice for their care.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Hampton Christian Church with Pastor David Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2:00.
