IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacqueline M.
Ebner
January 2, 1928 – April 21, 2024
Jacqueline M. Ebner, 96, died peacefully Sunday, April 21, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born January 2, 1928 in Bordeaux, France to Andre Marcel Charles Grant de Luxoliere de Bellussiere and Marie Lydie Roumillac.
She is survived by her husband, Major James N. Ebner, Ret.; her children, Murielle Hodgson and husband, Robert; Joel Utterback; Barbara Knighten; Mike Utterback; Judy Utterback; and Christine Sweeney and husband, Daniel; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Christiane Maestro and Jeannine Jousselin both of Bordeaux, France. She was preceded in death by her sister Jose` Gorny.
She was a proud French woman of noble descent who became an American citizen in 1962. She was patriotic and very proud to be American. Her life was full of love, laughs, determination, hardships and triumphs. After growing up in France and living through WWII she arrived in the USA as a US Army Wife in 1958. Her life experiences gave her an amazing history about which she spoke in many colorful accounts - she had an amazing memory and was a good storyteller. We will miss her stories but will never forget.
Jacqueline was a very proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and military wife. She was a French/English translator for the bicentennial celebration at Yorktown. Her love of fashion showed in her manner and dress every day. She enjoyed travelling but truly loved taking care of her home and family - being around her family was everything to her. Cooking with her own French style made for many great meals and happy family gatherings. She loved life and never took it for granted. She was appreciative of each day.
