My beloved mother, Jacklyn Ray Mayo, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.  She left us unexpectedly but surrounded by love.  She will be forever missed.  She is preceded in death by her parents Harold Jack & Molly Delette Douglas, her brother Richard Douglas and her 1st husband William F. Ray.

She leaves behind her husband Ronald L. Mayo and her daughter Kimberly Ray Gerczak and her step-children that she loved as her own Ron-Lee Mayo, Kristina Mayo, Kevin Evans, Jonathan Evans (April).  She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Kaleigh LeAnn, Kaci Paige, Kobe Jacob, Karli Ray Gerczak and her step-grandchildren Kourtney Mayo, Kodiak Mayo, Merrissa Evans and Kara Evans.Jacklyn was born on February 2,1949 in Tokyo, Japan and lived in Europe during her childhood until settling in the United States in 1961 where she came to call Hampton home.

Jackie worked for the City of Hampton for 30 years with Zoning/Codes Compliance.  She was also the secretary to the Board of Zoning Appeals for many years.  She was a member of the IAAP for 25 years and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 49 years.  She did too many things to list!  She was a wonderful woman.  Jackie was known for her beautiful smile and to never know a stranger.  She had a heart of gold.  Heaven has gained one sweet, kindhearted angel.  Give daddy lovins for me momma!
