IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jackie Beckner
Carlton
January 6, 1939 – February 10, 2022
Mary Jacqueline Beckner Carlton, 83. passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Jackie, or Jack as she was called by most of her family and friends was a devout Christian woman wo lived her life in the footsteps of Jesus. She was a wonderful mother to her own children as well as to those that she provided childcare for.
Jackie was born in Roanoke, VA, but lived in Hampton Roads for the majority of her life. She loved her human and fur babies alike, believing that she was put on this earth to take care of all of Gods creations. Those who knew her know she wasn't the flashy or boastful sort. She was gentle, kind, selfless, and preferred to be in the background instead of the limelight. She preferred to store her treasures in heaven.
No amount of words will ever compare to the great big heart she had. Jackie was humble and would not want something elaborate. So this is a kind-of way to honor her the way she would have lived; simply, humbly, and full of love for everyone and everything.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents John A Beckner Sr. and Myrtle M Beckner; brothers John Beckner Jr., Wayne Sr., Melvin, and Luke Beckner; sister Doris Beckner; sister in laws Elena and Marlene Beckner; husband Robert L Carlton Sr.; son Robert L Carlton Jr.; daughter in law Mary E Carlton; great nephew Wayne Beckner Jr.; and great niece Tawnya Reese.
