James Tilmon Buck, 88, died Thursday, October 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.  Born and raised in Ayden, North Carolina, he was the middle child of parents James and Sudie Buck.  Tilmon served in the U S Army as a field medic during the Korean War Conflict and moved to Hampton in 1955.  He later retired from Casey Chevrolet after 26 years of service.   He was a longtime member of Liberty Live and dedicated years of service to keeping up the church grounds.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved azaleas. Tilmon will be fondly remembered for his warm and infectious smile.

Preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Catherine Locklear; brother, Franklin Buck; his son, James "J.T." Tilmon Buck, Jr. and infant daughter; he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean Ferguson Buck; sons, Joseph "David" Buck of Lakeland, FL, James "Darrell" Buck of Montrose, PA; daughter, Jennifer Ray Buck of Hampton; sister, Wanda Robertson; sisters-in-law, Kitty Lawrence (Ernie), and Robert Ferguson (Rita); three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his precious pup, Daisy May.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Clark Cemetery, Hampton by Pastor Joe Hunt.  The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page at 10:55 AM or you can Click here to VIEW.
