Mr. Isrell Hall, a proud United States Air Force veteran, devoted family man, and faithful public servant, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 91 years old.
Born on March 29, 1934, in Naylor, Georgia, Mr. Hall lived a life rooted in service, honor, and love. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951, beginning his military career during the Korean War. In 1958, while stationed at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas, he was elected Base President—a testament to his leadership, character, and the deep respect he earned. He continued his service in the Vietnam War in 1965 and proudly retired as a Tactical Sergeant after 20 years and two months of honorable military service.
At the age of 25, Mr. Hall became a proud and accepted Free Mason, committing himself to a lifelong brotherhood of fellowship, service, and integrity.
After his military retirement, Mr. Hall continued to serve his community through the United States Postal Service, working as a letter carrier at Station 23607. He retired from the USPS in 1973, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Mr. Hall is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Hall; his children, Shonda Rodgers (Goldsboro NC), Andrew Hall (Hampton, VA), and Amber Aaron(Hampton, VA); and his stepchildren, Patrice Duvall(Suffolk, VA), Welton Porter(Newport News, VA), Robin Porter(Jacksonville, FL) and Da'je Williams (Hampton, Va). He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.
Mr. Hall will be remembered as a man of strength, quiet wisdom, deep faith, and unconditional love for his family and country. His legacy of honor and service will live on in all who knew and loved him,
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Newport News. A viewing will be held from 3:30 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive, Hampton. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
