Obituary
Iris E. Slater, 80, passed Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Born in New York, Iris had been a longtime Hampton resident. She worked as a bookkeeper for Conte
'
s Bicycle Shop in Newport News until retiring and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Iris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband, Harold E. Slater; children, Rickie Slater, Debbie Summers and Dean Slater; two sisters and two brothers; five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor Jacob T. May. A private interment will be held in Bellamy United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gloucester.
