Irene Rogers Franks, 93, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015. Born in the Fines Creek area of Haywood County, NC, she has been a resident of the Peninsula since 1940. She was a 1938 graduate of Waynesville High School where she was voted "Best Looking." Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Francis Franks, Jr., and daughter, Zatha Ann Franks. Surviving are her son, Theodore F. Franks, III and his wife Judi of Smithfield; sister, Geraldine Bachelor of Newport News; Brother, Doyce Rogers of Waynesville, NC; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday at Peninsula Memorial Park by Rev. O.H. Burton. Arrangements are by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton, 757-825-8070.
