Ira E. Biesecker, 83, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Born in Waynesboro, PA, he grew up in Green Castle, PA and moved to Hampton 35 years ago. After serving in the US Navy he went on to work and then retire from Civil Service. Ira was a member of the VFW, Hampton Moose Lodge #1514, the BPOE in Pennsylvania and his beloved USS Wisconsin Association. During his spare time Ira was an avid beach bum and loved the Buckroe Fishing Pier. Ira is survived by his companion, Sheila Culler; son, Jeffrey Biesecker; sisters, Patsy Gardenhaur, Carolyn Matter and Rayetta Myers; brother, Donald Biesecker; and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 30, 2015 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home Friday from 1-2 PM. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, PA.
