Idris Y. Ball, 89, died Thursday, March 25, 2021. Born in South Wales Blaina, England, he married his wife, Betty on September 25, 1954. They moved their family to the United States in 1969 when Idris joined his brother-in-law working as a foreign car (primarily British Leyland car) mechanic. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. Idris loved to golf and garden and grew beautiful flowers.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty and a young daughter, Lynette; survivors include his three children, Lesley Blankenship and husband, Michael, Christopher Ball and wife, Carol, and Belinda Landess and husband, Gary; five grandchildren, Sarah Wright, Josiah Ball, Elijah Ball, Christian Endres, and Hannah Endres; six great-grandchildren, Emerson, Simon, Lex, Savy, Aubrey, and Charlie; and his three granddoggies, Kali, Susie, and Luna.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with his son, Pastor Christopher Ball officiating. The service may be watched live on the funeral home Facebook page by clicking here.
