Howard W. Wilson, 97, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 26, 2026.  Born in Middlesex County, Virginia to parents Howard and Ethel Wilson, he moved to the Peninsula at 16 and remained a lifelong resident of Hampton.  Howard married his wife, Nelda, on her birthday, June 1, 1947, and they enjoyed an amazing life together for the next 78 years.

Preceded in death by his parents; his brother George, four sisters, Velda, Virginia, Bessie and Dorothy; his beloved daughter, Rhonda Stewart; and great-granddaughter, Jenna Noel; he leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Nelda; son, Howard W. Wilson, Jr. and his wife Janet; son-in-law, Kent Stewart; grandchildren, Tina, Nathan, Daniel, Sarah, Mary, Caleb, and Stephen; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bella.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Pine Chapel Baptist Church, Hampton.  A reception will follow the service at the church social hall.
