Howard P. Crowder, 69, died Sunday, April 3, 2022. Born in Richmond he lived in Virginia for most of his life. He was a steam engineer for Local 99 and had worked in many places, his favorites being the National Press Club, Exxon Mobile and Omni Shoreham. He was a singer and songwriter and loved playing his guitar. He enjoyed motorcycles and the Washington Nationals, but his greatest joy was his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Howard P. Crowder, Sr., his sister, Rosemarie Rishel, and his best friend, Barry Allman. Survivors include his wife, Linda Lee Crowder; his sons, Matthew John Thunder Crowder (Christie Crowder) and William Clinton Lightning Crowder (Jennifer Cooper); and three grandchildren. Liam and Wesley Crowder and Gwendalyn Blue.

The family will hold a celebration of Howard's life on his birthday, July 18 and the details will be updated here when they are available.
