Horace Lee Spruill, 85, died Saturday, September 2, 2023.  Born to Mitchell and Doris Spruill in Columbia, North Carolina, he had been a Hampton resident for 45 years.  Horace was a Class A licensed contractor doing work in both the residential and business sector, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church

Preceded in death by his parents, and first wife of 44 years, Phyllis; he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Joy M. Spruill; his children, David Spruill, Deborah Jaromillo, Billy Ray Spruill, Larry Alan Spruill and Anthony M. Spruill; his stepchildren, Robert Hurley and Laurie Langille; his siblings, Glenn Spruill, Dale Duncan and Barry Dean Spruill; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, September 8, 2023, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton with interment to follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7 from 5 – 7 PM at the funeral home.
