Helga R. Carr, 81, died Saturday, April 25, 2020. Born in Nuremberg, Germany, she was a longtime Newport News resident.

Preceded in death by her husband, 1st Sgt. George M. Carr, US Army retired; she is survived by her daughter, Petra Logan and her husband, Glenn; and Silvia Phillips, Michael Carr, and Rebecca Black.

Her graveside service will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Thursday.
