Helen M. Fraser, 98, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Born in York County, she had lived most of her life in Hampton where she was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. She and her sister sang at many funerals in her younger years. She was a wonderful seamstress.

Helen outlived three husbands, Henry Coleman Fraser to whom she was married for 30 years, Harry Custer 19 years, and Taylor C. Fraser for 10 months. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, Ruby Shelton, Frances Torian, George Messick, and William P. Messick; and a great-granddaughter, Candice Couture. Survivors include her daughters, Macon Sadler and husband, Walter and Octie Cartwright; her sister, Bertha Freeman; seven grandchildren, Tammy Eshelman, Helen Sue Quinn, Beth Good, Mindy Moore, Cole Sadler, Amy Jenkins, and Rich Cartwright; nine great-grandchildren, Michelle Couture, Katie Mulvaney, Kenny Quinn, Kaylee Good, Jacob Good, Julia Good, Joshua Jenkins, Caleb Jenkins, and Elijah Cartwright ; three great-great-grandchildren, Peyton Mulvaney, Warren Mulvaney, and Carmen Forestiere; and her step-children, Margaret Poling and husband, Gary and Taylor Fraser and wife, Ann.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Monday, July 16, 2018 at Memorial Baptist Church with a funeral service beginning at 2pm. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
