Harry John Andersen, 72, died Thursday, September 24, 2015. A native of Salt Lake City, UT, he had been a Hampton resident since 1965. In 2010, he retired as a Project Manager after working for over 40 years on numerous government contracts. He made family a top priority and loved keeping family traditions. Preceded in death by his son, Stephen S. Andersen, his mother, Thelma R. Meyerpeter, and his brother, Michael F. Meyerpeter; survivors include his wife, Debra H. Andersen; his son, Chad W. Andersen and his wife, Sandra; his granddaughter, Sierra N. Andersen; his father, Harvey F. Meyerpeter and his wife, Diane all of Hampton; his brother, David S. Meyerpeter and his wife, Becky of Virginia Beach; his sister, Nancy R. Merritt of WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, September 28, 2015 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Sunday at the funeral home.
