Harriett H. Slear, 84, a lifelong resident of Hampton, passed away on January 24, 2023 at a local nursing home, following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Helen Slear.

Harriett is survived by her brother, Jerry and his wife Iris; and her son and wife, Robby and Christy Hicks and their families; as well as close cousins and families of Fred and Karen Balmer, David and Brenda Balmer, M. T. Rideout, Jr., Alberta Hare and daughter Cathy, and Ginni Nichols and Cathy Fouche as well as several other distant cousins.
