Guy Richard Cook (Ricky), age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 7th, 2024. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ingram Cook and father, Guy Robinson Cook, as well as brothers Guy Robinson Cook, Jr. (Robin) and David H. Cook (Buddy).

Ricky was born February 8, 1961, in Conyers, Georgia and spent his childhood years there. He moved to Virginia during his high school years and spent his adult life in the Hampton Roads area. Ricky spent many years working for moving companies in Hampton, Virginia, and made many friends in doing so throughout that time. He worked for Cook's Moving Service for many years and Harrison's Moving, to name a few.  He spent many of his last years working with his beloved coworkers at Custom Closet & Glass in Portsmouth, Va. We are grateful for the friendships they shared with him and the love they showed him. He was known for his expert carpentry skills, his patience, and his strong work ethic. Ricky enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay and cruising the waters around Poquoson, snow skiing and golfing throughout the years. He also enjoyed spending time relaxing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with his family. Ricky was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Some of his favorite destinations were St. Martin, St. Barts, Anguilla, and Key West.   He was described by those who knew him best as a true southern gentleman.

He is survived by his daughter, Cassie Cook and her partner Nicholas Loher along with his grandchildren, Hailey Firth, and Mason Loher; his sisters, Debra Cook Cottrell and Arlen Cook McCullough and brother, Gregory Harvey Cook and many other family and friends.

Ricky never met a stranger, and he will be missed beyond measure. His memory will live on through those of us who were fortunate enough to know him.

As per Ricky's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.  Donations in Ricky's memory may be made to the American Heart Association or your favorite charity.
