IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Graham Nickellum
Lipscomb
June 22, 1988 – January 30, 2017
The untimely passing of Graham Nickellum Lipscomb has saddened family and friends. Born on June 22, 1988 in Newport News, he passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017. A resident of Virginia his entire life, he graduated from Smithfield High School and attended Tidewater Community College. While his life was short, his mark on others is significant. Possessing many talents, he unselfishly shared his creations with others. Cooking was his passion, and he built his skills with his "other family" at the River Stone Chophouse in Suffolk.
Graham loved his family—particularly his "little cousins" who lovingly called him Uncle Spoon. He delighted in spending time with his family during family gatherings and vacations but especially when the family gathered at the beach. With his friends he was playful, always loving a good prank, and enjoyed playing various card games. He was generous with his time and especially with his talents.
Graham is survived by his aunts Linda Shifflette (Wayne) of Hampton; Debra Blaylock of Williamsburg; Sharon Goodwin (Wendell) of Clayton, NC; and his cousins Rick Blaylock (Emma) of Ipswich, Great Britain; Kimberlee Blaylock of Williamsburg; Meri Westcott of Chicago; Matthew Shifflette (Kristie) of Chapel Hill, NC; Wendi Stead (Cody) of Poquoson; and Melissa Pennock (Jacob) of San Francisco, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Madsen Lipscomb and his maternal grandparents, Edward and Martha Madsen.
With time will come acceptance of our loss, but time will never diminish our love for one who meant so much to us all. Arrangements are being handled by R. Hayden Smith in Hampton. His interment will be on Saturday, February 11, at 2 p.m. in the Garden of the Chalice at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, VA. The Reverend Anderson Clary will officiate.
