Gloria Jean Honaker, 68, widow of Howard W. Shingleton, died Thursday, August 22, 2013. Born in West Virginia she spent most of her life in Hampton where she had worked well over 20 years for Lowes until retiring.

Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her son, George Earl "Trap" Shingleton; brother, Don Honaker; and grandson, Adam Pace. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Pace and husband Jeff; brothers George Honaker and wife Alice, Arthur Honaker and wife Janet Larry Honaker, Pete Honaker and wife Brenda; sisters, Linda Langley and husband Jessie, Carolyn Honaker and husband Mark; grandchildren, Jeannie Pace, Daniel Pace, Victoria Shingleton, Chance Shingleton and Angela Levido. Jean will be loved and missed by many.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669.
