Obituary

Gloria Rogers Greene was born April 14, 1952 to London and Martiel Rogers in Mobile, Alabama. Gloria transitioned back to her Heavenly Father on March 5, 2019 in a peaceful sleep at her home.

Gloria was raised in Mobile, Alabama where she attended public school and graduated from Bishop State College of Mobile.  She married Robert Walker Sr. and relocated to Fayetteville, North Carolina where she began a family.  Born to this union were two children, Robert Jr. and Latrisha. Gloria became a member of Parks Chapel FWB Church where she accepted Jesus as her Savior and her life was forever transformed. She was a very faithful and active member of the church and grew to hold positions of Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent; YPCL, Children's Church and Bible Study Teacher, Outreach President and member of United Voices and Mass Choir. Gloria devoted her life to raising her children, family and her walk with Christ.

In 2009, the Lord placed the Love of her life and soulmate Johnny in her life. They married and she relocated to Newport News, Virginia. Since then the two of them have been inseparable. They were each other's best friend and took their walk with God every day together. Gloria accepted her call to preach and was ordained an Elder. Most recently she became the Pastor of Lift Up Thy Voice Ministries under her Overseer, Apostle Johnny Greene.

She was preceded in death by her mother Martiel Rogers King, father London Rogers Sr., brothers Keith King, Ralph Rogers and London Rogers Jr. She is survived by her loving husband Johnny Greene, son Robert Walker Jr. (Christiane), daughter Latrisha Brown (Scott), four grandchildren-Donovan Walker (Rockell), Carlton Linguard Jr, Candace Linguard, Brittany Brown and one great granddaughter Londyn Walker; Two sisters-Velma Moore and Mary Rogers-Quash; Four brothers-Darren Rogers (Jackie), Roy Rogers, Eric Rogers (Sheri) and Ronald Rogers along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

She leaves behind a family of not only blood relatives but friends that became her chosen family. She was a Woman of God, mother, wife, grandmother, sister, friend, encourager, motivator, compassionate counselor and so much more. She has been a blessing to so many lives that her legacy will continue to flow for generations to come. To know her was to love her.

**Forever our Mother and first friend. We will miss and love you always! Never forgetting what you instilled in us. Be at rest in our Heavenly Father's arms.
