Gloria Elliott Case, 96, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Born in a farmhouse on Harris Creek, she and her twin sister, Glady grew up in Hampton and attended many USO dances in the early 1940's where she met a young soldier named Frederick B. Case. She was 20 when she and Fred married, and he took her away to Michigan to live for 40 years until his retirement from General Motors. Gloria's love for Hampton brought them back here where they loved living and taking in the view in a condo on the water until his death just prior to their 70 ^th anniversary. She had a servant's heart and she loved to do things for others, especially her family. She and Fred loved travelling, especially taking cruises. They enjoyed square dancing and she made many of the dresses she wore to competitions when they travelled. Gloria was an active member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist until her health kept her from attending church any longer.

In addition to her husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Sarah Elliott, her sister, Bertha "Deedy" Carter, and her brother, Charles Elliott. She is survived by her twin, Gladys E. Allerton of Hampton; her niece, Joyce Ann Lawrence of Hampton; her nephew Thomas Elliott of California; and several great-nephews and a great-niece.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church followed by a funeral service beginning at 2pm.

Memorials may be made to the church or a favorite charity.
