Gertrude "Kitty" Lam, 84, died Saturday, April 14, 2018. Born in Waynesboro, she had been a Hampton resident since 1959 where she attended Victory Baptist Church. She was the owner of Quality Beauty Salon for 20 years and also Penny's Beauty Salon. For 27 years, she worked for Shelton on the Bay.

Preceded in death by her husband, William Lam and her son, Tony Lam; survivors include her son, Cody Lam and wife, Donna; her daughter, Penny Leviner and husband, Donald; five grandchildren, Christy Scarborough and husband, David, Dawn Lam Byers, Tiffney Hargrave and husband, Mike, Richard Quales and wife, Tracey, and Kim Quales Blackman and husband, Tony; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2-3pm Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home followed by a memorial service beginning at 3pm.
